Here are some character sketches and an early palette marked up in two brushes. Color saturation varies quite a bit with brush choice in Procreate, so I might choose a particular brush just to make a color pop.
I was really happy to have a sibling relationship in the story, to add a little tension in the visuals, and I drew on the relationship with my younger brother who loved to hide and scare me when I least expected it!
The tea party allowed me to consider the tea parties I was still having with my neighbors. Their favorite thing is to pour into the cups. I keep extra little pots and pitchers on shelf they can reach.
